Honest from day one
You pay each provider directly, at their own prices, and we tell you upfront what a Maldives ceremony can and can't be.
Good to know: Maldives ceremonies are symbolic
For non-Muslim foreigners, a wedding ceremony in the Maldives is symbolic and not legally binding. Most couples marry officially at home and celebrate here — we'll help you plan both parts in the right order.

Questions couples ask
Is a ceremony with you legally valid?
Our advice concerns symbolic celebrations, which do not replace a legally valid marriage. We do not provide official civil marriage services.
Can we have the ceremony on a local island?
Whether and where a symbolic ceremony is possible depends on the place and date, so we check it individually. Local islands follow local customs, and we'll explain what that means for your plans.
Practical information for the Maldives →When is the best season for a wedding or honeymoon in the south?
Conditions vary through the year. The monsoon calendar shows what to expect month by month; outdoor plans and boat trips always depend on the weather on the day.
When to go: seasons and monsoons →How do we get to Gemanafushi?
By domestic flight from Malé to Kooddoo, followed by a boat transfer. Check timings and transfer costs for your dates with your guesthouse or boat operator.
About Gemanafushi →Can family and friends join?
Yes, tell us how many people are coming. We'll check accommodation and transport options for the whole group.
Who do we pay, and what if our plans change?
You pay each provider directly, and their own payment and cancellation terms apply. Check them with the provider before you book.
Can we do an underwater shoot if we're not divers?
It depends on your swimming confidence and the conditions. We'll discuss whether it's suitable before adding it, and confirm availability separately.

The five-day forecasts cover Malé and Kooddoo, the forecast point used for Gemanafushi. Weather varies between atolls: the forecast for Malé is not a reliable guide to conditions across the Maldives. Check the forecast for your destination before travelling.
