Local islands, real Maldives

The Little Francis is run by three co-founders: Frank, Richard and Risan. Richard and Risan are originally from Gemanafushi, a local island in Gaafu Alifu Atoll in the south of the Maldives. Their home island, and the people they know there, are where our local knowledge starts.

We built this site because we wanted clear, practical information about staying on local islands. When we write about an island, a guesthouse or a trip, we separate what we know first-hand from what we've researched. Prices and connections stay marked as indicative until we've confirmed them, and anything we can't confirm yet is left out rather than guessed.
