This page explains which cookies and similar browser storage this website uses, why, and which outside services your browser contacts while you read it. It describes the website as it currently works.

A cookie banner asks whether you allow analytics cookies (Google Analytics). Advertising consent is always denied. The services the website loads are listed below, including an affiliate script that tracks travel links on this website.

Cookies

The website's own code sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets its _ga cookies only after you accept analytics cookies. During a browser check of the live site we saw these two cookies, set by the hosting infrastructure rather than by us:

Durations are what we observed in one check; the infrastructure provider decides them and may change them.

Browser storage (local and session storage)

Some features keep small entries in your browser. They stay on your device and are not cookies. Nothing is written until you use the feature concerned, unless stated otherwise.

Offline copy of the site

To let pages open on a weak connection, the website registers a service worker that keeps copies of the site's own files and up to 60 recently visited pages (pages for up to 14 days, files for up to 30 days). It stores no personal details and is not used on admin or sign-in pages.

Outside services your browser contacts

Travelpayouts (emrld.ltd)

A Travelpayouts affiliate script loads on public pages only after you accept cookies. It does not load before a choice or after rejection. It checks travel links on the page so that bookings made through them can be credited to us as commission. It loads further code from emrld.ltd and our earlier check also recorded requests to sentry-relay.avs.io, which appears to be error reporting for that script. In that check it set no cookies or storage on this website, but we cannot confirm everything it does on its own servers. A script already loaded cannot be undone by changing your choice; reload the page after rejecting to prevent it loading again.

Agoda (cdn0.agoda.net)

Island pages include an Agoda accommodation search box. It loads only after you accept cookies, and any booking is made directly with Agoda. We cannot confirm what it does on its own servers.

Google Analytics (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com)

Loads on every public page with Google Consent Mode v2. Until you accept analytics cookies, all consent is denied and no analytics cookies are set; Google may still receive cookieless signals. After you accept, it measures page views, enquiry form submissions, "Ask us for advice" clicks and clicks to outside websites (destination domain only), plus campaign (UTM) parameters. No names or e-mails are sent.

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com)

Supplies the typefaces. Your browser sends its IP address and standard request details to Google to download them. We saw no cookies from it.

Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com)

Supplies the weather forecast shown on pages. Your browser sends a request with island coordinates. We saw no cookies from it.

Shopify

Only if a shop cart exists in your browser, it is checked with our Shopify store. Purchases are not currently available.

Links to other websites

Links to partners such as Kiwi.com, accommodation websites, webcams, social networks or providers open their own websites. Some of these links carry an affiliate reference. Once you leave this website, that site's own cookie and privacy rules apply, not ours.

How to manage or remove this data

• You can change your analytics choice at any time by deleting the tlf-consent-v1 entry in your browser's site data; the banner then appears again.
• You can delete cookies, local storage, session storage and the offline copy in your browser's settings for thelittlefrancis.com (usually under site data or site settings).
• Session storage is removed automatically when you close the tab.
• You can block third-party scripts with your browser's privacy settings or an extension; the site's forms and pages still work without the Travelpayouts script.
